I recommend for every Paladin to get both the heavy darksteel armor and the flanchard, then slot the armor with Accuracy/Dex (Or Accuracy/Parry, you need to hit 472) and slot the pants with pure Dex/Parry.

If you really really want to overachieve, get the Rose Gold Ear Screws and slot Parry/Vitality in them. If you used a materia 4, you can even slot a Crit in them as well.
